Queen Elizabeth described 2019 as a bumpy year, likely referring to the challenges her family faced and the tumultuous Brexit process. Uncertainty is challenging for families to manage but at The Economist's Content Solutions team it made for an interesting and very productive year. As I look back on the work we did I see that our projects covered most of the major macro-economic trends creating uncertainty for business--technological disruption, trade tensions, ageing, urbanisation, cyber-security and of course sustainability. These content programmes generated many valuable insights for industry of which my team and I are immensely proud.

So as we move into 2020 I wanted to share our top 10 for 2019 covering programmes with the best engagement results, as well as a showcase of the variety of our research, innovative themes and creative executions--some of which won awards and some went viral on social media.

I hope you enjoy them and have a happy and prosperous 2020.
