Burn pits used by the U.S. military to dispose of toxic waste in Iraq and Afghanistan are a cause of lung disease, a judge under the U.S. Department of Labor's Office for Workers' Compensation Programs ruled. The decision is a victory for some 64,000 veterans who put their names on the Veteran's Administration's Burn Pit Registry.
