On Today's Show

On GPS at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET on CNN:

Fareed traveled to Rome earlier this week for an exclusive interview with former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Why Rome?

"Well, for a place that's often accused of being chaotic, Italian politics are more chaotic than ever. And what's caused all the trouble is a recent election win by Italy's populists, whom Bannon has been supporting," Fareed says.

During the special, Fareed asks Bannon for his thoughts on the wave of populism rising around the world, on the Republican Party's chances in the midterm elections, and on his former boss, President Donald Trump.

Watch Bannon discuss President Trump's criticism of Attorney General Jeff Sessions
