Final Day at Consensus 2018

Day 3 at Consensus 2018

Wednesday at Consensus 2018

Consensus 2018 in New York wrapped up today with a series of bold predictions and inspiring visions. Venture capitalist Fred Wilson predicted that the next Nasdaq would be built on top of a cryptocurrency. His co-panelist Balaji Srinivasan, the CTO of Coinbase, said Satoshi Nakamoto may have been the world’s first unidentified billionaire but would not be the last. Bitcoin has shown that “one person, one group can post pseudonymously on the Internet and change the world,” Srinivasan said, reverently.

And in the final fireside chat of the three-day conference, Square CEO Jack Dorsey expressed his hope that bitcoin would become the internet’s “native currency,” his respect for the community’s hacker ethos and his commitment to supporting the network’s growth without threatening its open nature. Read the full recap of the conversation here.
