Where Trump's Salary Donation is Going: He's reportedly giving $78,333 to the National Park Service to restore a home on a Civil War battlefield

Trump's Tearing the Country Apart: That's according to a Fox News poll that found 56% of registered voters believe he's divisive for the country

What the White House Is Talking About:
There are no public events on President Donald Trump's schedule today.

What the White House Press Corps Is Talking About:
The briefing is back on camera at 2:30 p.m. with press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Also, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, are in Texas today, touring damage. And, so far, the President has yet to tweet.

Trump Surprises White House Tour, Kisses Baby:
Maybe this is what he was doing instead of not tweeting. Trump popped out to surprise a White House tour group. He picked up a baby who was apparently wearing a Make America Great Again bib and then kissed the tyke on the head before passing the child back to a parent.

Will the Trumps Donate to Harvey?:
Sanders said Wednesday that the President and first lady are "looking at different options" to make a personal donation to help relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. President Barack Obama was a prolific personal donor. Here's a chart from a February piece on Forbes.com that outlines where he spent his charitable money during his time in office:

Trump's Salary Donation is Going Here:
However, Trump is giving away his salary -- the first quarter of which, $78,333, is going to the National Park Service. Specifically, the money will go toward restoring a historic home on the grounds of Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Tbh, Melania Doesn't Look That Bad in a Boot:
Parody jokester @trumpmeetstheinternet posted this (pretty awesome) image Wednesday, and I have to admit it made me, lol. Guys, if we can't laugh at that whole shoe debacle, what's wrong with us?

Kellyanne Conway Weighs In:
On "Fox & Friends" this morning, Kellyanne Conway gave her thoughts on the brouhaha over Melania Trump's shoes (she thought it was ridiculous,) and she also commented on how the episode reflected on feminism: "By the way, she didn't wear those shoes down in Texas. She wore them onto the plane. And, by the way, she can wear whatever she wants. This is what cracks me up about the feminists. I'm a free thinker. I'm an independent. Nobody tells me what to do. They get upset if you wear a pretty dress or somebody calls me 'honey.' "

I think she has an interesting point, and I get that the shoe issue became a thing because judgment about what people, especially women, wear is such a common thread throughout society.

Gorka and Donald Trump Jr. Criticize the Looks of Vogue Editor:
Conway might want to have a chat with former colleague Sebastian Gorka and Donald Trump Jr. Gorka tweeted about Lynn Yaeger, the eccentric-looking Vogue editor who wrote an opinion piece bashing the first lady's high heels, and this morning Trump Jr. retweeted it.
Dress Like the First Daughter:
On a trip to Missouri to support her father while he kicked off his new tax reform plan Wednesday, Ivanka Trump wore a blue floral appliqué dress from Oscar de la Renta's spring 2012 collection.

Since it's no longer available, I found a similar style from the current collection for $1,790.

Princess Diana Died 20 Years Ago Today:
She was only 36. Her tragic death in a car accident stunned much of the world. She did a lot for the HIV/AIDS community, and other causes, just by being a compassionate and loyal advocate and champion. It's nice to see her sons continuing that legacy.

What Washington Is Talking About:
Following the President's speech in Missouri on tax reform Wednesday, congressional Republicans say they're in the process of drafting legislation.

What America Is Talking About:
Authorities are going door-to-door in Houston today looking for Harvey victims. The US military is sending warships and aircraft to Texas. An evacuation order has been issued for residents near the city's Barker Reservoir, where water levels are predicted to reach record levels. East in Crosby, there were blasts at a chemical plant that was flooded. And Beaumont, northeast of Houston, has no running water.

Poll of the Day:
Fifty-six percent of registered voters believe Trump is tearing the country apart, compared with 33% who say he's drawing the country together, according to a Fox News poll published Wednesday.

The breakdown of those who believe Trump is tearing the country apart by party is 93% of Democrats, 59% of independents and 15% of Republicans.

What Harvey's Impact Would Look Like Across the Country:
The Houston Chronicle mapped out how big an area the devastation in the Texas city would take up in different parts of the country. It's as large an area that covers Washington, Philadelphia, New York and the entire state of New Jersey, and basically all of Southern California.

Car Drives Out of Woods Into Trump's Motorcade Path:
It happened when Trump was in Missouri on Wednesday. Watch the video here at the 1:17 mark. Police told KCTV in Kansas City that the driver lost control in a Bass Pro warehouse parking lot and blamed it on brakes going out. Watching the footage, I'm kind of surprised at how long it took a vehicle from the motorcade to respond.

Jerry Springer for Ohio governor?
The race to succeed Ohio Gov. John Kasich is shaping up, and Jerry Springer is exploring a bid, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Springer appeared at a fundraiser last week for state lawmakers from Northeast Ohio where he asked about his prospects in the gubernatorial race, state Sen. Sandra Williams said," per the Plain Dealer. Don't forget that before he was a television host, Springer was mayor of Cincinnati.

Miranda Lambert's Rescuing Dogs From Harvey:
The singer's MuttNation Foundation said it's rescued 72 dogs from the storm so far, which have been sent to an Oklahoma shelter. Among the rescues are this mother and her newborns, born Wednesday morning.

The Obama Cartoon Kickstarter Reached Its Goal:
The campaign to raise $100,000 to make a pilot for a cartoon about a time-traveling Barack Obama and Joe Biden has surpassed its goal.

Kim K Channels Cher, Talks Politics:
The reality star is playing homage for a magazine shoot for the second time this week. First it was Jackie Kennedy for Interview, and now Kim Kardashian is doing her best impression of liberal Twitter icon and fellow Armenian-American Cher for Harper's Baazaar Arabia.

In her interview, she talked about politics and said she doesn't feel safe with Trump in the White House.

"Anyone can run the US better," Kardashian said of Trump. "My daughter would be better."

She said although she hasn't identified in the past as a feminist, "I feel I do a lot more than people that claim that they're feminist." "I feel in my soul I'm a feminist," she said. "I just don't need labels to make me feel or know what I am inside."

She also said she's cautious to talk about politics on social media. "Sometimes I feel like I want to speak out more about political issues," she said. "You have to be really careful about what you say, because a lot of things can be taken in the wrong context and I always want to be respectful, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings."
